Safety & Liability

Last updated: 4 June 2026

Scuba diving carries inherent risks. Big Nomad is committed to running safe, well-briefed expeditions. The following requirements apply to every guest.

Certification

You must hold a recognised diving qualification (PADI, SSI, BSAC, CMAS, GUE, TDI/SDI or equivalent) appropriate for the depths and conditions of your chosen programme. Original or digital certification cards are checked on arrival.

Medical fitness

You must complete a medical declaration (RSTC / BSAC equivalent). If you answer "yes" to any item, a doctor's clearance to dive issued in the last 12 months is required.

Insurance

Valid personal dive accident insurance (e.g. DAN Europe, BSAC, PADI) covering the depths and dive type is mandatory. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.

On-site rules

You agree to attend briefings, dive within your training and certification limits, follow guide instructions and abide by the boat's safety procedures. Diving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited.

Liability

Nothing in this notice excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be limited under the laws of England and Wales. Subject to that, our liability for any other loss is limited to the price paid for the affected programme.
